I'm being a bad blogger these days... I'm working all the time and don't have much time to sit down and write a good post. I have been a little bit crafty lately though and should be better at taking pictures and putting them up here. I'm actually really excited about one project I started and finished this last weekend. I made my own roman shade and it turned out great. I've had this fabric for a while now and finally I got to make a shade and it turned out great!

I'm also hosting a Valentines Day Party tomorrow night. I've invited a few friends and we are crafting Valentine's Day card for our loved ones. So I've bought a bunch of red, pink and white craft supplies and I'm taking a $5 cover to get help with the supplies. I'm also having some drinks for them such as wine, tea and coffee and some sweets of course. I'll be sure to take pictures and show you guys how we get crafty!

A Year In Review

I thought I'd share some pictures from the past year. It was a good one!

In January I was counting down for my mom's visit

In February I threw a cupcake party on my birthday

In March I chopped off a lot of hair for the first time in a long long time!

In April my garden was growing nicely

In May we visited the local farmers market

In June we celebrated our 5th anniversary at Turtle beach Inn

In July I made some fabric strawberries for my god daughter Alice

 

In August I started making Christmas things for the SWEA Christmas Fair

In September we enjoyed a quite night in with some delicious food

In October I went to my first American Football game in Athens

In November we hunted down the perfect Christmas tree

In December I sold my crafts at the SWEA Christmas fair. So much fun! 

I also got to go home for the holidays and spend Christmas with my family in Sweden. Also so much fun!

New Pillow

Okay, so I finished my pillow. So I thought I'd share it with you. This is the pillow I'm thinking about selling on this website for homemade stuff. What do you guys think? I'm not trying to fish for compliments, I'm just trying to figure out if it's good enough to sell. I love it on my couch as it reminds me of where I came from and it looks very Scandinavian.

Garden

In the fall I planted some fall veggies in our garden and I've totally neglected them. The way I work these days make it hard for me to go over there and then we were gone over the holidays but this week I felt so bad about it I had to run over there. I'm glad to report that my in-laws has been taking good care of my little babies and they are growing just fine. I was able to harvest some lettuce and radishes that we ate that night with dinner and it was delicious! I love the act of planting a seed, seeing it grow and then be able to harvest it. 

I'm starting to plan for the summer and what I should plant this year. I'm pretty glad with out my garden came out last year, but there were some veggies that I don't think I'll plant this year. I'm definitely going to plant tomatoes, but I need to figure out a good way to keep the birds out of the way, I lost way too many to those darn birds. I love the easiness of squash, although my garden is almost to small to contain those monsters of a plant. We planted okra last year, because I thought my hubby would pickle the heck out of those suckers, but not so much, so I'm skipping those this year. Peppers for sure, love me some fresh peppers. I'd love to find a good cucumber seed that does good in a pot.

New Pillows and a New Hallway

Yes, I'm working on something that I'm going to try and sell on this amazing website called Etsy. It's basically like an amazon website, but for nothing but handmade things. I love it and bought some of my Christmas gifts from there. So right now I'm working on a Swedish inspired pillow. I'm really liking how it's turning out, but I don't have a picture of it yet, so when I do, I'll post it. 

I've also been doing a lot of painting this past weekend. We painted our hallway, I made stripes. It took a while but I LOVE how it came out. I also took off all out door knobs and spray painted them in a metallic bronze color. Also LOVE it. I took a picture of some of my progress, so I'll show it off. I can take some more pictures tonight so y'all can see the finished wall + door knobs.

Here I've put each handle on a piece of styrofoam that we had lying around at home. It helped when spray painting them.

To Sweden And Back

Yes, we've been to Sweden and back and it's been a blast! So much fun to see family and friends again and Christmas was wonderful. I miss and love you all so so much!
