lazy days..

Yes, it's past lunch time and I'm still sitting in my cozy clothes in the couch surfing the internet for inspiration. I'm itching to change things in our house. I want to make things white, I love white. Right now it's our bedroom and dining room that I want to fix up. It is okay as it is, but it seems like I always want to change things up. I love decorating and fixing with our house, unfortunately my wallet is not big enough to do too much. I have my eye on a chair for our living room too. When we take away the Christmas tree one corner is going to look very empty. I want it so badly, we'll see if my husband gives in. Right now it does not look so promising.

1/1/11!!

Yeah, a new year. New beginnings. New pillows? I sure hope I can keep it up. If not with pillows than with some other crafts. I have an idea in my head that I hope can turn into something.

So New Years resolutions. Well, I have already mention one thing; to create more. But I also want to write my journal more often. I do write on my blog but I have an actual journal that I write in every now and then and I hope to be better at it. I have written a journal since I was 5 and have a bunch of them and I love to go back and read what I thought and felt way back when. So I'm going to make an effort to write more about our lives and what we do.

Have a great Saturday. We're having C's brother and girlfriend over for some black-eyed peas and collard greens. Apparently that is what you should eat the day after new year for good luck.

My "scrabble" pillow

Here is the newest pillow in my collection. I printed the "B" and the number "3" and then sewed it together and put buttons on the back to be able to remove the inner pillow and switch it out. It turned out pretty good. I'm quite satisfied, I think I could have done it better but I have to remind myself that this is new territory for me and it can only get BETTER from now on.

Happy New 2011!!

I have decided that from now on I am going to write my posts in English. I see that most of my visitors (even though it may be an accidental visit) are from the USA so I feel it is easier for folks back home in Sweden to translate what I'm writing rather than you English speaking people translating my Swedish into English. Especially since I don't have the necessary letters on my laptop to make my Swedish "translateble".

Anyways, still working on my pillow. I'm going to the fabric store to get some more fabric, when the fabric that I got on sale was not cut quite right and ended up not being 20 inches across all the way. The printing I did though turned out good, so I will definitely continue with the project and show it off later.

A new year is about to start as well. Today is the LAST day of 2010. It has been a pretty good year. I have had some difficulties getting through it at times but over all I'm pretty happy. I have gone yet another year in school with good grades, made some awesome new friends, got to go back home to Sweden for the summer (which was both good and bad, when I realized how very much I miss everyone back home), became a Godmother for the first time, started crafting pillows and I'm still madly deeply in love with my hubby. So it has been a good year.

Have a fantastic New Years Eve. We'll stay in, working on our savings. Our almost non-existing savings. We're going to make some home made pasta in my husbands new pasta making machine. Can't wait!

En ny kudde tar form..

Ja, jag haller pa att gora kuddar pa hogsta fart. Jag har just spray fargat ett stycke tyg som jag hoppas ska bli bra sa jag kan sy klart det i morgon. Sjalvklart sa lagger jag ut bilder pa det om det funkar for mig.

Det ar roligt att skapa. En fantastisk kansla nar nagot blir bra och man vet att ens egna fantasi och hander har skapat det. Att det inte alltid blir bra ar en annan sak. Man lar sig av sina misstag och nar det galler att sy, da kan det bli manga misstag, dethar jag salv fatt erfara. Det har varit mangen gang da jag helt enkelt har blivit sa sur over mitt misstag att mitt skapande har slutat ju dar vid det misstaget. Ovning ger fardighet heter det ju som sagt var. Jag ska verkligen forsoka utoka mitt skapande, och inte sitta och gora annat onodigt (hello, TV!) da jag har nagon timme over. Jag brukar inte ha nyarsloften, men detta ar tror jag det blir just det. Skapa, skapa, skapa!

Hoppas eran julhelg var fin. Jag lagger upp lite bilder pa varat julhem. Vi njot av lugnet, lite sno (forsta gangen pa Juldagen sedan 1861!) och en massa goa julklappar.

Ja, jag kande att jag ville skapa aven dagen efter forra inlagget och skapa gjorde jag! Akte till tyg affaren och kopte tyger och annat smatt och gott. Sedan satte jag igang med att gora en kudde at lilla tjejen som jag barnvaktar och den blev helt okej. Gav den till henne i dag som julklapp och hon blev da glad i alla fall! :)

Ja, jag skriver det har pa sa jag inte kommer undan. Jag kanner att det kliar i mina fingrar och jag vill skapa. Jag hoppas kanslan sitter kvar i morgon nar jag vaknar upp. Ar ledig hela dagen och det skulle vara kul att halla pa och fixa och dona.

Kuddar. Ja, jag vill skapa kuddar. Eller halsband. Sag en bild pa ett hemmagjort halsband nar jag surfade runt pa internet och den inspirerade mig. Vi far se, men nagot ska det bli i alla fall.
