Swedish Christmas Fair

Yes, the Christmas Fair came and went. It was soo much fun and i can't believe it, but I sold everything I made! I should have made so so much more because most of my stuff were gone after only 2 hours. Very exciting. I'm so glad I did it, it was a lot of work, but totally worth it!

All the pictures but the two last ones are from when I set up the table at home the night  before to "try it out"

I had two small "tomte nissar", or Santa's helpers, as decorations. So many people asked me if they could buy them. But I aint selling these. :)

I made Swedish candy, "kola" and 'knack". The kola is from a special recipe from the village I grew up in. A neighbor of mine told me the story behind it ad I put it down on paper.

These were the pillows. My two favorite ones were gone before the fair started.

I made a bunch of these Dala Horse Hairclips and they were very popluar!

I blogged about the felt hearts I made a few weeks ago  and I had them displayed on the table like this to show people ideas on how to use them.

Another one of Santa's helpers showing people where to find the knack. I should have made so so much more of it when it was gone in a flash!

These Dala horses are to put in the Christmas tree and they where also gone quick!

Although it was a Swedish Fair and a lot of people probably know about the Dala Horse I attached a little tag with the history of the Dala Horse on each one.

A close up of the Dala Horse Hairclip

These two pictures are from the Fair.

That is it folks!

Maybe again next year? I better get to making things soon! :)

Don't know if I'll blog anymore before I go to Sweden on Thursday. We'll be gone for a while so I will probably be back then!

GOD JUL everybody!!

Two Weeks From Now

In exactly two wees I'll be at the Chicago airport waiting to board our flight to Sweden! I'm so so so excited! I can't wait to see my mom, dad, brothers, the rest of my family and friends. I can't even explain how important YOU all are to me and I miss you guys every day!

CAN"T wait to see and spend time with my lovely mom in her new house!

the best two brothers in the world.

is there anything better than the feeling of "being safe" around your dad? I guess it's the little girl in me talking.

Can't. Freaking. Wait.

the best sista in-law any girl could ask for. How did Nicklas get so lucky?? ;)

Two words:  Window. Santa.

Can't wait to see this covered with snow!

A Story About A Christmas Tree

We always get a hot apple cider at Starbucks before we go out in the cold weather (sometimes it's not so cold, but yesterday it actually was!) to pick our Christmas tree.
Maybe this one??

Or this??

Nope, this one is the ONE!

There is is, in our living room.
So many lights!

to be continued...

Gender Reveal Party

So the gender reveal party came and went. It was a success! And the gender was revealed, it is a boy!! It was a really fun party and I truly recommend having one if you're planning on finding out the gender of your baby. It is just fun to do it with family and friends and celebrate the baby. So instead of writing about it, I'm going to share some pictures!

Me and Christian made the chalk board where a tally was going on. There were a few photos of the baby in the belly next to the chalk board so you could take a closer look before casting the final vote.

Courtney (the mom to be) had made this very cute "Boy or Girl" sign.

After you tallied down whether you though it was going to be a boy or a girl you got to pick one of these tokens and each one of them had a number on the back and there was a raffle in the end

This was the cravings-station. The pom pom's were made by me!

The salty station.

The crunchy station.

The creamy station.

And the sweet station.

I made this floral arrangement as a surprise for the mom to be. She loved it!

These are the cupcakes that the mom and dad to be took a bite of and inside was the color blue. Which means they have a baby boy coming in the spring! :)

A lot of pictures indeed. The parents to be requested that everyone coming to the party either had to wear blue or pink whether you thought it was going to be a girl or boy. For some reason I thought for sure they were having a girl so I was sporting a hot pink cardigan. But I was so wrong.

Have a fantastic Saturday evening everybody!

More New Things

Yes, this weekend has been a lot about making Christmas things. But I really love to do it so it's been nothing but fun. I finished up one more pillow. I really love how it turned out so I'm excited to show it to you. I'm also continuing to make those felt hearts and I have also made little "bags" for them from some scrap fabric and it turned out great. So here it is:

New Things

I've got some new things cooking in the craft department. One new pillow and a bunch of little felt hearts that you can decorate Christmas gifts with, hang in the Christmas tree or do whatever you'd like with.

the text on the pillow is made from French knots. It looks a little funny when taking a picture of it because the knots kind of look like they are uneven. It looks better in real life I think. I hope at least.

Hope you are doing well today! It's now only about a month left until the Swedish Christmas Fair! Yikes!
