Party Planning

Here in the US of A people like to throw a good party. Birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers and Halloween parties etc. I feel like the new thing is to have a "Gender Reveal Party". A party where you reveal the baby's (the baby in the belly) gender. My friend and her husband who is pregnant at the moment decided that they wanted to find out whether the baby in her belly is a girl or a boy. So she asked me if I wanted to help to plan the "Gender Reveal Party" with her. I love everything about planning a party so of course I said yes.

The party is basically filled with fun stuff for the guest and the parents-to-be to do. She has asked the guests to put on a blue or a pink t-shirt. If you think it's a boy, you have to wear blue and if you thin it's a girl, you have to wear pink. Apart from the t-shirts, the mommy-to-be has asked to not include those two colors in any of the party decorations, when she is not that into those specific colors. So we are going with orange (for boy) and yellow (for girl). There will also be a chalk board where people can write down what they predict the baby's gender is going to be, a "cravings-station" where we will serve salty, sweet and sour things to eat, yellow and orange cupcakes, a display of their ultrasound pictures and (the most important!) a cake which will be decorated in yellow and orange, BUT on the inside it will either be orange OR yellow. So when the parents-to-be cut the cake open, the gender will be revealed by the orange or yellow color of the cake!

I'm going to her house tonight to make some decisions and plan it some more. Here are some pictures that we find inspirational

I'll let you know how it all went after the party in November
